This is really funny.
I've reported thousands of spam emails to ISP and domain registrars, but this is the first time I get contacted by the spammer complaining with me because I waste my time filing complaints against him.
This morning I received a spam email on an email address never spammed so far. So, I opened the spamvertised website, I looked for contact info, and then I filed 2 reports to:
- the ISP the email originates from
- the domain registrar of the spamvertised domain
sending in CC to the contact emails I've found on domain info and website. A few minutes later I received this email:
You fight spam because you have nothing else to do with your shity life.
SPAM will always exist and span knowing your name and domain dose notlook like spam it look more like Suscriber!
Honestly I was quite amazed. He thinks that because spam exists he is entitled to use this illegal method to advertise his business. So I immediately replied him as follows:
Well, you have a great view of the world. Since there will always be illegal activities, crimes, murders, and so on, it would be stupid to fight against them?
You can do whatever you want with your life, but if you do something illegal against me, I DO my best to make you stop.
If you complain about my spam reports, I guess you’re a spammer. So I ask you the same question you’ve addressed to me: you don’t have anything else to do in your life, such as working honestly and not bother people with shitmails?
I didn't expect to receive a new reply. I was wrong. Here it is:
But you had the Unsuscribe link option.
Why do you file complains when you can unsubscribe?
You like to pur efforts into small things, You could design your website better and make some money instead of wasting your time with this.
You have to understand that your spam complains dont do any harm for me because I am used to that but I wanted to see what is in your small head because I never Complained about any spam I receive.
I just let them in my bulk folder and erase them I see no reason for spending so much time to report them.
This sound silly for me, you are a really stupid person and I do not want to be rude and to hurt you but seriously all of the guys like you are silly and stupid and waste the time in an endless war.
Happy complaining to all the spam you receive in all your email accounts.
In my small head I feel like a stupid. Should I? Am I crazy? Why should I waste my time reporting spam activities? :)
By the way, this is my final reply.
My dear friend, you have to understand that spam is illegal. If your activity is advertised through spam, you are subject to spam complains, to investigations, to domain removal, banning and so on. I’ve contributed to disable hundreds of domains advertised with spam.
Clicking on a “unsubscribe” link means that a previous click to a “subscribe” link has been done. I haven’t subscribed to your “mailing list”, so I don’t see any reason why I should unsubscribe. Also, you as a spammer know well that usually unsubscribe links are just fake links which don’t do anything.
You can do whatever you want with other people. But I don’t want to receive emails I haven’t asked for. So you have 2 options:
1. Remove all my contact info, email addresses and whatever else you have from your database, and stop sending me unsolicited emails
2. Keep sending me spam
If you choose option no. 1, you won’t have to deal with me again in the future.
If you choose option no. 2, I will report every single spam email I will receive from you (as well as from anyone else). I was used to receive more than 200 spam emails each day, and fighting against spam has lead to good results, as yours are the only spam emails I have received in the latest months.
Your choice.
Never got any other comment. Not yet.
For anyone interested in spam fight, these are the tools I use:
- Spamcop - used to file reports to the ISP where the email originates from and to the administrators of the network where links contained in the spam email points to
- Complainterator - used to file reports to domain name registrars
